Pittsburgh SDA Adult Choir (Members Only)

Choir News - Member Expectations / Commitment Day

·       Attend rehearsals each week immediately after service for 1.5 hours (1st Sabbath will be sectional rehearsals)

·        Section leaders (Ashleigh - Alto's, Irene - Soprano's, Nadege - Tenor and Elisephan - Bass)  will be responsible for taking attendance, learning and teaching parts

·        NO MORE POTLUCKS; NOTE: MEMBERS SHOULD NOT GO TO VISITOR POTLUCK TO EAT BUT RATHER BRING A SNACK TO EAT WHILE IN REHEARSAL

·        Choir members need to communicate back to leadership (or section leader) through text/phone when unable to make it to a rehearsal or to a performance

·        Choir members will need to help with song service on occasion

·       Rules around being able to perform with the choir:

o   Must attend at least 2 rehearsals reviewing the song that will be performed

o   Must attend the pre-rehearsal in order to sing with the choir on performance day

Vocal Warm Up Links – just like before a physical workout, you should always stretch your muscles… Likewise, before you sing, you should warm up the vocal chords
 

 
Rehearsals – 1 to 2pm (pls see schedule for rehearsal dates)
 

  • Open with prayer
  • Song Introduction (Why are we singing this song?)
  • Vocal Warm ups
  • Parts Rehearsal – On occasion we may separate into different rooms for parts
  • Choir announcements (if any)
  • Closing Prayer

 
Communications

  • The primary method of communication is by text messaging service. All you need is to be able to receive text messages on your phone.
  • You will receive text notifications for reminders, songs, changes, etc.
  • You can also send questions by replying to any text sent from the church text phone number. (Note: Your reply texts will only come to Choir Leadership)
  • We welcome feedback! (Email, Call, Txt)

 
Member Expectations

  • Attend mandatory rehearsals; Alternate rehearsals are OPTIONAL
  • Come to rehearsal ON TIME
  • During the week prior to rehearsal, LISTEN TO MUSIC
  • Provide constructive feedback, suggestions, requests etc through TIFFANY; she will then bring it to the Choir Leadership

  • Participation in Choir Potlucks – Bring food OR assist with setup/ takedown

  • Concert 
  • Choir Robes / Dress coordination
